Welcome to Downbeat Swing!

We’re so excited to welcome you to our friendly and inclusive community! Swing dancing is one of the most fun and positive social activities you’ll ever experience. You don’t need a partner or any previous dance experience. No partner? No problem! In our beginner and intermediate classes, as in the Lindy community worldwide, we ask students to rotate partners, so everyone dances with everyone. This prevents back-leading by followers, and accustoms both leads and follows to dancing with different partners. In our teaching experiences, creating a collaborating, interactive learning setting has only further convinced us this is the fastest and most effective way to learn.
